Description

Purina® Catfish Chow® Floating is a highly nutritious floating ration formulated especially for catfish raised in pond culture where stocking rates do not exceed 4000 fish per acre. Recommended for catfish 5 inches in size or larger. Excellent for catfish, bluegill, minnows and carp. 50 lbs.

Purina® Catfish Chow® is what catfish love to eat. People in turn, love to eat catfish, which have a sweet, mild flesh. Ictalurids are cultivated in North America (especially in the Deep South, with Mississippi being the largest domestic catfish producer). The fish, mostly channel catfish and blue catfish, are found in most waterways in the region, and are typically breaded with cornmeal and fried when served as people food. Catfish are easy to farm in warm climates, leading to an inexpensive and safe food for local grocers to carry which has further increased its popularity in the U.S. as food. It is important when stocking catfish, not to exceed 4,000 fish per acre.

Description

Game Fish Chow® is an extruded, multi-particle size product designed to be fed to a wide range of fish species and sizes of fish. This floating diet makes it easy to visually manage feeding, resulting in less waste and improved water quality. Game Fish Chow® is a 32% protein diet formulated with a strong attractant for increased palatability, top digestibility and improved overall health.

Research has shown that ponds stay healthier, fish grow bigger, faster and sustainable per acre populations with supplemental feeding. Ponds which naturally sustain a stocking population of 500 bluegills and 50 bass per acre can easily sustain 1,000 bluegills and 100 bass per acre with supplemental feeding. This remarkable difference is due in part to the fact that supplemental feeding affects a pond’s entire food chain.
