Estrotect Breeding Indicators

Estrotect

Our highly effective and affordable ESTROTECT™ Breeding Indicators make a valuable addition to any breeding program. Packing multiple uses, including cattle estrus detection, cycle monitoring, pregnancy indication and embryonic loss identification, our Breeding Indicators are proven to help increase confirmed pregnancy rates.

COLOR CODES

Our Breeding Indicators are available in red, green, blue, yellow and fuchsia. Using different colors is useful when applying to various colored cattle, identifying breeding groups or other management practices specific to your operation.

HOW ESTROTECT™ WORKS

Our Breeding Indicators are more than just cattle heat detection patches. They identify all the main breeding considerations, making it easy for you to determine optimal estrus intensity, monitor cycles, indicates pregnancies and evaluate embryonic loss.

Identify When Cattle are in Optimal Estrus

When the Breeding Indicator is more than 50% rubbed off, it means the cow is in optimal estrus intensity and it’s time to breed. Research has proven that cattle express higher estrus intensity, and therefore, confirmed pregnancies are three times more likely when the patch is more than 50% rubbed off.1

Indicate Pregnancy

Breeding Indicators offer a simple and accurate method of pregnancy detection in cattle. If the patches show no signs of estrus activity following breeding, the cows or heifers can be assumed pregnant.

Monitor Estrus at a Glance

The fluorescent colors of the Breeding Indicators make it easy to pinpoint where each animal is in their cycle — allowing for optimal estrus detection in cattle without someone being present when the mounting activity occurs.

Identify Embryonic Loss

ESTROTECT™ Breeding Indicators can help identify embryonic loss by placing a patch on a cow or heifer after they have been confirmed pregnant. If the Breeding Indicator shows any signs of activity, it indicates she went back into heat and is no longer pregnant.
